Email sync

How Gmail and Outlook sync works, what is private, and how emails are matched to deals.

What we request

For Gmail we request gmail.readonly, gmail.send and calendar.events. For Microsoft 365 we request Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send and Calendars.ReadWrite. Tokens are encrypted per workspace.

What is synced

Only threads that include at least one address that exists as a contact in Pellwood. New mail syncs every two minutes; on first connect we import two years of history.

Privacy controls

Mark any thread, contact or domain as private. Private threads are visible only to the mailbox owner. Admins can set domains that are never synced (for example your own company’s domain).

Matching to deals

An email is linked to every open deal of the contacts on the thread. If a contact has more than one open deal, the email is linked to the most recently active one, and you can move it.
